Today, a team of Alex, Darcy, Mathumilan, Anointed, Mishael and Hikma represented Great Linford Primary School in the first Maths Olympiad held at The Webber Independent School. The competition allowed children from many different schools to show their flair for mathematics and problem solving. Each child took part in the Brain Buster individual rounds, as well as competing in their Year 5 and Year 6 teams in the Conundrum Challenge rounds using number, logic and shape to solve a variety of problems. The day was a fantastic opportunity for our children to flex their mathematical minds exploring challenges and having fun whilst competing against other schools.
All six children performed excellently in their individual and team challenges. We were delighted that Anointed won the trophy for the highest scoring Year 5 child across all the schools who entered and Mathumilan won the trophy for the highest scoring Year 6 child across all the schools. Well done to all the children who took part and we look forward to entering next year to defend our titles!
