As a parent / carer we don't often associate the concept of mental health with children, we may miss the fundamental signs that a child is in need of support where his/her mental health is concerned.
To support parents and carers in this instance as part of their 'your're never too young to talk' mental health campaign the Schools in Mind Network have produced a leaflet offering useful tips and guidance in order to prevent issues going unnoticed. (A copy of this leaflet can be found under our Families tab on the website.)
With 10% of school children between the ages of 5 and 16 suffering a diagnosed mental health problem, we actively support and encourage our parents to be pro-active and engage with the free advice offered by the Schools in Mind Network.
