My name is Carol Mallett and I am the Family Champion at Great Linford Primary School. My role in school is to provide support, advice and information to the families within our school community. I can help you with any worries that you may have in relation to your child's education, behaviour and wellbeing.
My main responsibilities include supporting our current families and new children and their families to understand our school roots and values. This ensures our families and staff are all supporting and working together in partnership. I am always on hand to help our families complete various forms for example, free school meal forms, nurse referral forms and CAMHs forms. I aim to improve outcomes for families by alleviating barriers to learning, as well as improving communication links between school and home. I also support our children and their families by liaising and preparing the relevant paperwork for Family support meetings, PEP meetings and childcare reviews. I then take an active part in these meetings alongside other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for our children and their families.
Through my role, I support our schools designated safeguarding lead to help support our children and families. When life becomes difficult and they find it hard to cope, we work with them and sometimes other professionals to support the best interests of the child.
My role also includes collating the relevant paperwork, inducting adults and delivering safeguarding training so all our children and staff are safe at Great Linford Primary School.
From 8:30 each morning and 3pm each afternoon, when we open our school gates, I am on the playground and available for parents/carers to talk to me about any worries or appointments regarding their children they may have. At Great Linford we like to celebrate anything that the children and their families have achieved so please share them with me!
If you unable to talk to me on the playground, I am also available on 01908 605027
