Last term, year 6 looked at Anglo Saxon brooches and explored different patterns they could see. They created their own designs based around examples they looked at, also taking inspired from our focus artist Andy Goldsworthy. After creating their designs, the children used clay and clay tools to make their brooch. To add colour to their brooches, they used acrylic paint and focused on using small, accurate brushstrokes. Finally, we added a brooch catch onto the back so that they could be worn. They look fantastic, well done year 6!
