Over the past few weeks we have been thinking about different methods of transport both now and in the past. We have designed a vehicle and thought about what we needed to make it. Yesterday we made our vehicles and added wheels to it by using axles. We had a great time and made a big mess, which we helped tidy up at the end of the day! They are amazing, don't you agree?
In Year 4 we have a lovely visitor come to our classrooms every Tuesday morning. Her name is Amy and she is only a few months old. Every week we watch her with her mummy. Sometimes she makes a lot of noise and sometimes she cries. But most of the time she just likes to relax and cuddle up with her mummy. This week she showed that she had learnt something new. Her mummy put her on her tummy and she was lifting her head and kicking her legs as though she wanted to crawl around. I wonder what she will do next week?
This week, we started debating club. You are probably wondering what does debating mean? This means when you discuss a subject and we talk about lots of different things! Miss Parish holds this club every Tuesday at 12:30 in her classroom. Our ambassadors will be going to the club to get an inside view of what happens during debating. One ambassador said, “the debating club is a great way to understand politics, and if you have a dream of becoming a politician your dreams will come true.” One child also said, “this club is perfect for me as I love debating.” Debating club will teach you all types of things. We hope that we will get more and more children to join the discussion!

Well guess what we did on Friday!! After we have layered everyone up, we headed to the school field to enjoy the snow.
As well as snow ball fights with Miss Harris, we made footprint tracks and snow angels! A great time was had by all, including Miss Funnell who managed to avoid all of the snowballs!
We then headed back into the classroom and changed into dry warm clothes. Mrs Mutchell then brought round hot chocolates for everyone with cream and marshmallows! A fantastic way to warm us back up.
On Thursday, the children in EYFS were lucky enough to receive a visit from our local PCSO's. This followed on from the Fireman visiting earlier in the week for our real life Superheroes topic.
The police officers talked to the children about how to keep safe and what they do as part of their jobs. They also brought extra uniform and helmets for the children to try.
We are looking forward to seeing our PCSO's out and about in the community, as they have encouraged the children to come and say hello.
