We have been greeted with a beautiful sunrise here on the Norfolk coast as the children prepare for the final day of the residential (and Year 6). We will be departing Kingswood at approximately 1:15pm later today and will notify parents of our arrival time via School Gateway.

Congratulations to our Junior Park Rangers who have won our school the Outstanding JPR Award 2018. The team have won the school £200 to spend on Parks Trust days out and new outdoor learning equipment. Our Rangers from year 5 (and Miss Smith!) have gone the extra mile and also achieved their John Muir Discovery Bronze Award through their learning about the great environmentalist and special outdoor learning missions.
The achievements don't end there though: our year 5 Rangers along with a few friends were the first people to receive the exciting new Great Linford Manor Park Discovery Bronze Award when they spent the morning exploring there with the Parks Trust. Thank you to Amanda and Darrel from the Parks Trust who made the trip so much fun. Year 6 have made it safely to Norfolk, dropped their bags and are heading for a quick walk by the coast.
The KS2 children took part in a water obstacle course today with Sgt MAC and his team. The children worked in teams to complete the course and see who could get the most water back for their team.
Great fun was had by all. KS1 supersoak day will be tomorrow! In Breakfast Club this week, we have been taking part in a competition to make posters to advertise our amazing club, that starts at 7:00am-8:30am every day (except on the weekend and holidays). There will be 2 winners which will be announced on Friday
This week, we have been eating delicious hot food like egg and beans on toast. Liam, Year This week, 38 children spent 3 nights in the yurt villages at the Caldecotte Xperience. The children demonstrated incredible independence skills, overcame fears and tried new challenges which were physically, emotionally and intellectually demanding. Everyone worked together, encouraged each other and looked after one another. All of the adults who attended were incredibly proud of this amazing bunch of children and felt privileged to spend this time getting to know them better - what a cracking (and tiring) week!
Don't forget - the parents' assembly, where you can find out more about what we did and see more of our incredible photos and videos, is on Thursday 19th July at 9:15am. Well done to children taking part in Come Dine With Me this week.
Students have worked hard planning and preparing a 3 course meal of vegetable skewers, pizza and smoothies. Miss Lovelock and Miss Kerrigan found it hard to judge winners for their delicious treats. Well done chefs, great job! In Breakfast Club this week, we have been taking part in a competition to make posters to advertise our amazing club, that starts at 7:00am-8:30am every day (except on the weekend and holidays). This week, we have been eating delicious hot food like egg and beans on toast. Liam, Year 6 Year 5 have been being creative with clay with Andy who comes in for Pottery sessions. Using different tools and techniques the children have made models of volcanoes and river animals. They look amazing! Here is just some of our artwork.
Last night, Taiba, Liam, Zavier and Alfie attended the shortlisting preview evening for MK Gallery Architect 2018. The Event was held in the project space opposite the main gallery building. After getting a chance to see our model in the exhibition, we listened with anticipation to find out the winners from this year's competition. I am extremely pleased and proud to announce that Great Linford Primary received the Highly Commended award for our category 7-10 years!! (This meant we were the top in our category!)
Over 260 entries were submitted with only 90 being shortlisted, so we are extremely proud of the children for all their hard work and commitment. The gallery is hoping to come and do a special assembly in the next few weeks to celebrate and present the children with certificates and goody bags. You can go and see their work 'MK Waves' in the MK Gallery project space until 28th July! The project space is opposite the main gallery building near the MK Theatre. Go and check out their creation! Well Done Taiba, Liam, Zavier and Alfie! |
