Year 6 had a successful first day with a walk up Beeston Bump (the second highest point in Norfolk) before unpacking and settling in. After making our beds (with mixed success) we toured the site and completed two activities before dinner.
The weather has been kind but warm and the children have been working together to problem solve. We will upload pictures of today's activities later today.
Good morning to all our families back home in Milton Keynes. A beautiful sunrise greeted us today here in Norfolk. After a busy day yesterday we are preparing for another day of activities (climbing, zipwire and a visit to the beach to name a few!) We will keep you all updated with some pictures of yesterdays trip so keep checking the website for updates.
Four lucky children who had 100% attendance and punctuality every day this term were picked out at random during our home learning assembly last Friday for an extra special treat! While all of their classmates were hard at work in the classroom, they came with Miss Scott and Mr Shipton to the cinema to see Toy Story 4! Afterwards, we were feeling a little peckish so we also decided to visit Creams in Xscape for a delicious dessert! If you want to be in with a chance of treats like this in future, make sure you come to school every day on time for the register!
We had an amazing 2 mornings of Sports Day this year with Key Stage 2 competing in the 100m sprint, javelin, long jump and tug of war and Key Stage 1 completing a round robin of 9 sporting events linked to the fundamentals of running, throwing and jumping.
The children really enjoyed the days and have been anxiously waiting for the results which are as follows:
First place: Blue House
Second place: Green House
Third place: Yellow House
A huge congratulations to Blue House! Your points will get added onto the point for the House Cup which will be presented soon!
We took a large squad to the athletics festival. All the children participated really well and did their best which was amazing!
Amazingly, 5 of our children came in the top 16 in Milton Keynes and they came to the MK Athletics finals last Saturday. The children showed determination, resilience, competitive spirit and great sportsman ship and we were very proud of them no matter how they did.
Our results in these finals were brilliant! Well done to:
- Jaime for coming 2nd in the whole of Milton Keynes in the Senior Boys Triple Jump.
- Joshua for qualifying for the finals of the Junior Boys 75m and coming 7th
- Geraldine for qualifying for the finals of the Junior Girls 150m sprint and coming joint 3rd!
- Tahera for competing in the Junior Girls Vortex throwing event and coming in the top 10.
- Sofia for competing in the Junior Girls Long Jump event and coming in the top 10.
Amazing! Thank you to all the staff and parents who came to support and gave up their Saturday!
A competition, which was run by the Parish Council for schools in our local area, was entered into by our Year 3 children this year. The competition was to design a poster to encourage people not to litter. A huge congratulations to Sofia who came 2nd out of all the children in all the schools that entered! Copies of all her poster will be produced on recycled plastic and put up in the local area.
