Today we have been learning how to make catapults using lolly sticks and elastic bands. After making sure we had all the resources we needed, and reading the instructions of course, we made a start. The first catapult was a dream to make and could be assembled quickly by all the children and worked a treat. The ping pong ball projectiles could easily be catapulted across the room. I’m not sure many ended up in the targets however! Full of inflated confidence in my newly acquired assembly skills, some of us decided to tackle the more tricky catapult. As it turns out, it wasn’t long before I needed to enlist the help of a passing Year 6. Unfortunately, we ran out of time to finish, but hey there’s always next week to try again!
