Like it or not, our children are growing up in a digital world. The internet can be a fantastic place. Unfortunately, it can also pose risks to children and adults.
I have spent the day learning the latest news in online safety and learning new ways to keep help our children use the internet in a safe and productive way.
Two of the main reasons that parents fail to engage with online safety are:
1. I already know it
2. I don’t understand it myself.
The internet is changing faster than I can write this post. Tomorrow children all alround the world will download apps that don’t exist today.
To help families encourage their children to stay safe on the internet, I will be running an Online Safety Parent Workshop (the date will be parentmailed our this week).
Not sure if it’s for you? Look at the picture below. Do you know the apps and what they do? Then ask your child. Do they?
If you think it would be useful to know more about you child’s online habits and the apps that they are using, or would like some advice and tips, then sign up and come along to the Parent Online Safety Workshop
Thank you to all the parents who attended the KS2 English Open Morning earlier today (6.11.17). It was great to share our vision towards learning and for everyone to witness some of the fantastic lessons that take place each day. Our 'take-home' bags have been very popular and we hope to have more available from tomorrow - these will be available outside reception. We will be running another event later in the year and will release dates in due course.
