Recently, as part of our explorers topic, year 2 visited Hazard Alley. The excitement of the day started when a double decker bus came to collect us!
Hazard alley is a purpose built centre, where children can safely experience hazards that they may come across. In our groups we worked our way around the various hazards, which included; what to do if you found someone in deep water, if a fire started when you were home, how to cross a road, staying safe around railway tracks and around building sites. The children were able to make 'real life' calls to emergency services and were given guidance about what information to share and ensuring that they stayed calm and spoke clearly.
We all had a fantastic day and the children were amazingly well behaved and showed true Great Linford values to the volunteers at Hazard Alley, who helped us with our day. Thank you again to the parent volunteers that accompanied us.
