This week Owls and Squirrels had an exciting day out to Woburn Safari Park to ignite our topic of ears, tails and whiskers! We started off on a guided coach tour around the Safari park learning lots of facts about the animals.
Did you know a Rhino's horn is made from hair?
We saw lots of exciting animals including tigers, lions and bears. A monkey even climbed on top of our coach! After our road safari, we stopped for lunch. We were even joined by some chickens! Owls and Squirrels then went to learn all abut animals with fur and feathers. We were able to touch the fur of a zebra and the skin of a snake. A special visitor joined us at the end: a bearded dragon. We made sure we stroked him very softly.
Afterwards, we went to see the other animals around the park. We saw the penguins splashing about in the water. We saw the beautiful red parrots fluttering around the aviary and the squirrel monkeys leaping around on ropes!
Owls and Squirrels had a fantastic day and thoroughly enjoyed learning about all the animals! Mrs Gardner and Miss Scoggins were extremely impressed with how well behaved Owls and Squirrels were. Everybody showed our Roots and school values! Well done Owls and Squirrels!
