Year 3 came in to a shocking discovery of a crime scene. Outlined on our classroom carpet was Tutankamun but the big question was... how did he die? Using a range of primary sources (from x-rays to artefacts) Year 3 became Egyptian detectives investigating the evidence available. Theories ranged from a chariot crash to murder by one of three suspects! We then created some Egyptian sunset art by mixing different shades of colours. Finally, we built a working model of a shaduf (which was used to lift a bucket of water from the Nile for farming) and chose to create 3D pyramids, 3D mummies and design our own death masks for a sarcophagus. The children looked fantastic in their Ancient Egyptian outfits!
