I am Sofia, the Head Girl at GLPS. I am smart and always do my best when I am faced with a challenge. I am very grateful to have this position. I will take my job very seriously and will try my best to make this school a better place for everyone. I enjoy sports and cooking and love helping with these in school.
Hi. My name is Jason and I am ready to help and support GLPS. I like sports and reading and can't wait to help with sports day and the reading challenge later this year. I promise to be a good Head Boy by working hard and helping other people.

What are school leaders?

At Great Linford Primary School, the school leaders are the group of four Year 6 pupils who are our Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl. They are leaders in our school and act as positive role models in every aspect of school life.

What do we do?

Our role includes leading by example and helping around school. We run weekly "aspire teas", where we celebrate the achievements of our peers who have won the Aspire Trophy that week. We hold regular meetings with Miss Lovelock to inform her of recent school events. In addition to this, we lead assemblies and liaise with the house captains to organise house events.

Our Aims:

  • To help ensure that everyone feels safe and secure at school.
  • To act as positive role models for the other children.
  • To keep Miss Lovelock informed on the exciting activities which have been happening. .

Future Projects:

We have lots of projects and ideas for the future. Here are just a few:
  • House Assembly - We will be working with the house captains to plan exciting house events
  • Charity Events - We will be supporting the school in raising funds for local charities.

How to become a Head Boy or Head Girl?

Do you think you have what it takes to be a Head Boy or Head Girl? The following information will help you apply for future positions and ensure you are well prepared for the world of education and work after your time at Great Linford comes to an end.
  • Apply- The process begins with an application. In this you must explain why you would be a good leader in the school, what steps you would take to make the school a better place and how you would cope well under pressure.
  • Interview - Once you have submitted an application you will be invited for an interview with our Head Teacher. She will ask a series of questions about why you think you should be given the job.
  • School Council Panel - The School Council - our very own group of class representatives - will also be given the time to ask you questions and given time to feedback and deliberate with the Head Teacher.
