Welcome to Great Linford Primary School
Welcome From Tara Lovelock (Headteacher)
Thank you for taking the time to look at our website. I am very proud to be the Head Teacher of Great Linford Primary School; I am supported by a fantastic team and our local community. We had our Ofsted Inspection in June 2019 and were delighted with the report. We were graded as Outstanding for Effective Leadership and Management and Outstanding for Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare.
Throughout my seven years here, I have seen our school go from strength to strength. As a result of consistently strong teaching across the school, the standards our children achieve in reading, writing and maths have continued to rise, seeing the number of children achieving expected standards exceed the national average in all three subjects at the end of both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The number of children who achieve a higher standard also exceeds the national average in reading, writing, maths and grammar. The progress children make by the end of Key Stage 2 in reading, writing and maths is above the national average, placing us within the top 20% of all schools nationally - see the full results here. Our consistent approach to teaching phonics means that at the end of year 1, the number of children passing the phonics screening check is also above the national average.
Throughout our children’s education at Great Linford Primary School is an emphasis on academic success combined with the development of rich personal and inter-personal skills. We strive for every child to reach his or her full potential as well as discover and develop unique talents. We hope that every day will be for them a journey of discovery, providing exciting challenges as well as the thrill of success.
We have created a vibrant and purposeful, yet relaxed and nurturing environment. Our children know they are valued as individuals and that they each have a unique contribution to make to our school and the wider community. We have a broad and balanced curriculum and are passionate about children having many different opportunities. Please have a look at our subject pages to find out more. For example please see our music page here. I am very proud of our school in which children demonstrate their values and view learning as exciting and fun.
We would love you to join us here. Why not come and see us for yourselves?
I look forward to seeing you soon and hope you will share my enthusiasm for this wonderful school.
