At Great Linford Primary school we follow a banded book reading scheme. We use a variety of books including Collins Big Cat books and Rigby Star navigation books. The children work through the different levels, changing the banded colour as they go. Each half term the children are assessed using PM Benchmarking to ensure progress through the bands. Reading is also recorded in our reading journals; parents sign to say their child has read and teachers check this daily, along with recording when a child has read in school.
